So on Saturday April 4Th I went to the hospital at 6:00pm with my water leaking and some contractions. They hooked me up to the monitors and started watching my contractions and the baby's heart beat and to see how much amniotic fluid I was leaking. I was dilated to a 2 1/2 still so they called the doc and asked what he suggested he had them admit me and start me on Patosin, and so the journey begins....I was started on the Patosin and the contractions started to pick up slowly...by midnight they were starting to hurt and I was dilated to a 4 it was time for the epidural. Once I was given the epidural I felt great for a minute and than I felt like I was going to pass out my blood pressure was getting high so the gentle man who gave me the shot had to inject some other medication to fix the problem and placed on oxygen after that I was great and ready to go...well at about 2am the baby's heart rate was getting way to high and my contractions were getting to close together so they had to shut the Patosin off....by 4 they were able to turn it back on and get me going again...by 6am the next morning (April 5Th) I was dilated to a 6...my this was taking forever...the doc came in about 7:30 and I was still at a 6 and through out the rest of the day I was given high amounts of Patosin and small amounts of Patosin depending on how my contractions were doing...around 2:00pm I was dilated to a 7 and the baby had had a bowel movement so the nurse pumped liquid in to clean it out and refill the sac and by 3:00pm I was at a 9...Wow a 9 the doc said it would be about 10 minutes and I would be about ready to start pushing...I was getting excited the Prince made a guess that I would be done and have the baby at 4:45pm...little did he know that when the doc returned 10 minutes later to check me he told us that my cervix had started to swell and I was about this size of being dilated back to a 7 and the baby was already in the birth canal ready to come....SO we had to do an emergency C-Section...with in about 3 minutes my hospital room was full of nurses and doctors and the Prince was thrown an outfit and told to get dressed...I was unconnected from the machines and taken to the C-Section delivery room where I was placed on the bed and prepared for the surgery...I was scared to death but ready...the Prince came in a few minutes later and was placed in a chair at my head and the surgery began...with in 10 minutes they had the baby out and was making sure he was all healthy (which he was). (The Prince was 3 minutes off of when he was born he was born at 4:42pm.) During the rest of the process I started to get extremely light headed and ready to pass out so the nice gentleman kept giving me medication to help by the time it was all said and done I was fighting to stay awake through the whole thing and about 35 minutes later I was all stitched and stapled back together and prepared to return back to my room. I returned to the room and Jake went to the nursery to help with the tests and the bath. I was in the room for about 2 hrs before I was able to hold my baby...it felt like forever...

After the baby was brought in about 30 minutes later they moved us to our other room where we would spend the rest of our stay at the hospital...as the night went on I was being checked every hour and the nurse started to become concerned about my pulse and blood pressure....I had lost a lot of blood during the labor and the C-Section the I ended up getting a blood transfusion. I received 4 units of blood to get everything back to normal and so I was felling OK...This was scary and not a lot of fun but worth it for our new baby boy and I am so glad that we have him! The Prince and I love him more than anything.

Baby Update

I went to the doc yesterday and good news I am now dilated to a 2 1/2 to a 3 and still 80% effaced. Doc thinks I will deliver by Wednesday but just in case I don't I have an appointment Wednesday morning to be started!! I am so excited the end of the pregnancy is in sight!! I am so excited however what I am not excited for is this dang weather. I hate snow this time of year. Easter is coming and all the new baby animals are being born and yet we are getting snowed on....o well hopefully the storms end soon.
Have a good weekend everyone!!

Ok so here it is April 2nd and I still haven't had this baby...The prince and I were really hoping for an April Fools Baby but I guess that isn't going to be happening...dang it. I went to the doc on Monday and I was dilated to a 1 and 80% effaced and he stripped my membranes...Ouch!! I go back tomorrow to see if there is any progress!! Cross your fingers and wish us luck!
